MAZATLAN

These last few days have made us feel like we are on the "Love Boat" - remember?

Got off today and took the shuttle to the main terminal where there are a lot of little shops to pass the time and let the locals bug you.

Tonight we had our own little DWTS - tango champs from Argentina. Yes - they were good.

Now we are just waiting to see what awaits us for the New Year Eve's party.....

until later.......

WHERE ARE THE BULLS ?????

This arena was across from the dock.

PUERTO VALLARTA

Well, Puerto Vallarta is a "city". Was a surprise from where we docked, and did not look like a tourist place at all. We enjoyed it from the ship. Not even a good place that we could see to walk.

Jason, sorry that I did not bring my Sam's card, we could have picked up some office supplies. lol

Show tonight was a magic show and was good. Even rode in the elevator with their 8 month old daughter, Mia. Not impressed, me neither.

We are still doing a lot of "drifting" as places are not far apart. We gain an hour tonight. YEAH

stay tuned, we still may do something exciting.....

DOOR CARDS

Who would have thought that 2 little cards could cause so much trouble????? Well, the first night on board, the DO NOT DISTURB cards were taken from every door on Deck 9. They replaced them and then again last night, they were all taken again. Have new ones again.

ZIHUATANEJO / IXTAPA

CORRECTION: According to the Captain, we were drifting. Well, we "drifted" all day and most if the night.

Last nigth the show was by the singers and dancers and tonight was Judy Kolba - comedy and international singer. She was fun.

Walked the streets of Zihuatanejo and it was good walking. For some reason, the streets reminded me of New Orleans, only with gift shops instead of bars and rooms above the stores. Temp got hot real quick and we were back on the ship by noon. Besides, we needed a nap.

We do get ESPN - so have seen some football games. Heard the Leach story today - but will wait for more info.

Still enjoying "doing nothing" - guess it'sw the calm before tax season.

Stay Tuned - we might do something.....

PARKED AT SEA

If any of you know how we feel about cruising, you know we have laughed and said we did not care if they took out in the middle of the ocean and "parked" - well......that is just what we have done. Guess we are too close to our next port - so needed to take up some time.

It is a beautiful day - in the 80's. Sun comes up some time after 8:00 and goes down a little after 6:00 - and remember - we are still on Texas time.

We have not been to the dining room yet - and may not. We like going to the 7:00 show and then it's too late to eat. We have only been eating twice a day and sometimes only once a day. But that does not count cookies and ice cream.

GOD'S BEAUTY

Just happen to catch the sunset tonight.....

REMEMBER 1983?????

Well, we do. The hotel with the curve - where we stayed for our 15th wedding anniversary. What we remember the most is walking the beach every morning and every evening.

WHAT DAY IS IT???????

They always want ;us to know what day of the week it is, so they change a tile in the elevators. The 6 elevators in the center of the ship are glass and 4 of them overlook the water - really great.

ACAPULCO

Been There - Done That.....Staying on ship.....

Show last night was Kenny James - 13 times "Star Search" Grand Champion Male Vocalist - somehow he was new to us - guess we don't watch much besides sports.....

Then the highlight of the evening was a special benefit for Make-A-
Wish Foundation. Royal Caribbean is a corporate sponsor. Raised close to $5000 with more to come - which is the amount it takes for a wish. That is flight, cruise, shore excursions and other extras on board. It was Christmas music performed by the singers, dancers, some of the extra entertainers and crew members. It was a great show - worth more than the $1 we paid and especially at 10:45 P.M.

Santa even came to see us and left 2 canvas bags.......They are really nice

merry MERRY CHRISTMAS.....

Think the adults were as excited as the kids when Santa arrived. It was a lot of fun. We do hope all are having a great family day.......

SANTA FOUND US......

After Santa made his way around the world, he found us at sea......

FOOD SIGNS

How many ways can you say POTATOE?????

FOOD IN 8 LANGUAGES.......

Is this really necessary?????

MANZANILLO

Well, by the time we get home, I will have the hang of this blog thing. To catch up on a few things, we have Captain Claus - what else?????

The singers and dancers are great. Had a comedian one night and we won't bother to see him again. Ventriloquist was fantastic - just had old material. Tonight was a pianist Glen Smith and he was really good - all kinds of music.

Walked the path around the water today and enjoyed it very much. The only offer we had was a man offering us a fishing trip. We thought about it and decided - NO. The weather is great and we even put on our swim suits. Heard there was snow in Snyder.......

Tonight is Christmas Eve and seems kinda funny. I ask Edwardo, our cabin boy, where my tree was and my presents and he told me they were back in Texas.........

Will post a few pics. Not smart enough yet to put them on the same post, so you will have several.

Catch ya later......

AT SEA

Monday morning we flew from Austin to San Diego. Flight was not full, so we got three seats for the two of us, plus we had preboarded for medical conditions. Can't decide if the reason was physical or mental.......

Transfer to the ship was one of the easy ones for us. Gained two hours from Texas to California, but lost an hour Monday night and another one on Tuesday night, so guess what? we are back on Texas time.

We have Christmas trees, gingerbread villages and lots of garland with red bows. Weather has been cloudy and cool, but today is sunshine and great temps.

While we are at sea, we have so much on our not do list, we can hardly get it in.

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you.....we are on a cruise down the Mexican Riveria. On Royal Carribbean's Radiance of the Sea.

Stay tuned for more in the life of "us"

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

Yeah, I know - I did not post last night.....too tired. We gained two hours from Austin to San Diego - then last night we lost an hour.

The flight to San Diego was a good one. Plane was not full and we were in 3 seats by ourselves. Transfer to pier was really good. They took our luggage at the baggage claim and then they showed up in our state room. We have taken lots longer to go through security, so all in all, was a good day.

Pic not so9 great as I took a pic of theirs -

Will try and post each night, but we are usually so busy doing nothing - we'll see.......

Sunday, December 20, 2009

O'kay, we finally got to see it - The Blind Side. Enjoyed the true side of the story. Saw the real family on GMA and made it even more real.

Oh, by the way - we are in Austin, flying out in the morning.......

Yesterday was spent in Midland at Eric and April's for family time together. Monte's Mom and Mac also came for lunch and stayed to see the opening of presents. Had a great day ending with a meal at Rosa's. Kids will now get ready for Santa.....

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

Well - you will have to check in ever so often to see where we are and what we are doing - you can bet it is something fun......
