HELLO SAN ANTONIO

 People People and more People
Little did we know that there was a VIVA Festival in San Antonio as we drove to our favorite place - the LaQuinta across from Market Square. Streets were blocked off and so many people you could not stir them with a stick. Oh well, we will check to see if there is a room. There was!!!!! The manager told Monte it was the last night and people should be gone early. We are inside the motel by the pool so it's quiet here. We fought the crowd to eat at LaMargareta and got right  in. Vendors and music every where. Beer bottles and boxes all over the parking lot, and there was an ambulance outside when we walked back. Oh well - now time for the Rangers,

LET'S CATCH UP

One of our favorite places - Deck 11. You could sit in the shade or as below, Monte could move to the sun. As I have said, this ship has the best in sitting areas. You can sit in the shade, in the sun and just about any place on the ship you want.
I also liked Deck 5 as it has sitting all around the deck and places like below in the shade. I am sitting inside the area below right now and it's great as there is also a lot of trivia going on so I get to listen to facts that I will never have a use for, but is interesting.
Monte watched the "Incredible Hulk" on the big screen and then we watched "The Aviator" based on Howard Hughes and it was good, just ended suddendly. Left me wanting more of the story.
The best show we have seen was Jason Byrne who did illusions. You kinda knew what was to happen, but you did not know when he did what. He cut a girl in half and we saw her legs later, but he did not put her back together. The last thing he did was to get in a capsule and then he showed up just to the left of us in the upper deck and we did not even know he had arrived.......
Last night we had a "Like a Juggler" fly in from New York and he could have stayed in New York. He was really slow in his performance and was not anything special.

We have been sooo busy with our nothing schedule that we have not kept up very good. I don't like to take the computer out on the upper deck as you could get water from  the Water Park, so have to wait until I am willing to come inside.
Last night we stayed up for the mexican buffet at 11:00 and really slept in this morning.

This is our last day at sea and we have not touched soil since getting on in Galveston and at this point - don't plan on it until we  are back in Galveston. Stay tuned after we get off as our adventure will not be over for a few days - as we plan on taking our time getting back to Snyder.

until later.......

Just got the word that a very VERY special friend - and my #1 prayer warrior- has gone to talk to Jesus face to face. She will be missed and leaves a legacy that touches even our grandkids.....

NOW I AM CONFUSED......

When I booted up today, my blogger has made some major changes - so will take some learning for this old gal.

In Montego Bay, Jamaica today and weather is beautiful. Plenty of chairs to choose from to sit on deck and nice breeze. We love being on the ship in port as most of the gang gets off. Nice sleeping weather and great for reading.......

Check on the pics I have next and if I get use to the new format, maybe I can do some neat things......

until later

WE - ARE - GOING - WHERE???????

Well, yesterday was interesting to say the least. The drive from Texas City to Galveston was short and of course we drove the sea wall. Beach was clean and really nice. The road is always crowded, so when we heard a siren behind us, decided to pull in to a convience store, and guess what? ambulance pulled in behind us. Oh well. Nothing serious.

The "getting on" the ship was entirely different from any other trip but went quickly. One of the new things is that to use the electricity in your room, you put your room key in a tray. Waiting to see who gets locked out first.

Left Galveston about 4:00 and about 5:45 we were told we were returning to Galveston. Medical emergency. Just before we docked back in Galveston, we were told there was another medical situation and another guest was getting off. Sooo about 7:30 we were on our way again. Then smooth sailing.

Welcome aboard show was as usual really good, but wasn't until 10:30, but guess what? I made it.

Just wanted to check in and will try to post pics tonight. This ship is loaded for kids as there is a water park with water slides, mini golf, rope course, pool table and foos ball and probably some things we don't even know of. Adults have special areas too and more seating than on any other ship to just enjoy reading and sleeping.

so until later

TEXAS CITY

Well, we made it to Texas City and you should know the drill by now - we drive around and find out what makes this city tick. Found dike, but did not drive out on it, but did go on a side road and found an area for wind surfers and there were a lot of them with different modes of surfing.

Listened to the first game of the double header of the Rangers on XM and finished on the computer. Was a fun fun game for us. Now keeping up with the nightcap, but not quite as good as game.

On to Galveston in the morning and then the adventure begins - so stay tuned..

LET'S GO

Is that not a beautiful sight?? Why? because it means we are on the move, and we were ready. We were ready for tax season to be over. Monte seemed to be more tried this year and even tho I grumble, we both enjoy the season. Just getting older and take it harder.

Left home with the thoughts of going to Dallas and heading down I45, but when we got to Weatherford, Monte said to cheeck on roads cutting across, so we turned off on 287 at Arlington headed to Ennis to hit I45. It was a good road and places we had not ever seen. That is the kind of driving we like to do - new places. Spent night in Corsicana and drove around for awhile - another thing we like to do when in a new town. Monte fell asleep with his clothes on and we were both in bed by 9:00. Yep - we're getting old.

Going on down I45 today and hope we can catch the Rangers double header tonight. We just want to get close enough to Galveston that we have a short drive tomorrow to get to the ship.

So - until later
